About the Artist
Annabelle, born in Canada, to a Guadeloupean mother and a Franco-Italian father, grew up and evolved between these different countries, soaking up their rich cultures over time. Montreal will always be her hometown, but she is now settling in the south of France, where life has a different pace, and she has all the time needed to devote to her art.
Holder of several University degrees in the fields of art and Design between 2000 and 2005, she studied at the University of Québec in Montreal, in Canada, at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in France and at the Nagoya School of art and Design in Japan. She has exhibited in several galleries and private places, as well as sold many canvases and photographic prints, both to individual and commercial clients on an international level.
She decided to create this website to share her art to the world, since it is inspired by the world.
In her creative process she starts by exploring the places that exalts her imagination, be it right where she lives or on the other side of the globe. She shoots everything that strikes her, which can be grand perspectives, city views, nature's beauty, small architectural details... She then compiles everything and starts creating her art by layering parts of these pictures upon themselves intuitively, using colours, textures and perspectives as her main elements. Her goal is to give you a feel of that scene, in a way that is both more complex technically but also more pleasing in its aesthetic.
The result is bold, colourful imagery that is figurative and abstract at the same time, that mixes scales and brings her vision to life. Like a long lasting feeling of a space that marked your heart but that you no longer physically belong to.
